Certified Cash registers (Sweden)
Cash registers certified for use in Sweden
3-year replacement warranty on the control unit
Does the certified cash register law apply to me?The law applies to all companies in Sweden that sell goods or services against cash payment and report it as income. Card payment is counted as cash management. The exception is activities with a cash turnover of less than 182,000 SEK / year (= 4 price base amount x 45,500 kr 2018, distance selling web trade and goods and slot machines.
What does it mean in practice?
This means in short that all companies that receive cash and debit cards must have an approved cash register. To checkout, a control box must be connected. The checkbox will register everything that happens at checkout. All customers should be offered a printed receipt. The first draft of the Act stated that the receipt should have a unique code generated by the control box. This requirement has been removed by the Swedish Tax Agency as decided on February 10, 2009. The claim was abolished to accelerate production, certification and delivery of checkboxes.
For PC Cashier Cashier Data Boxes, the control box must be connected to the server or checkout on the POS computer.
If you are several companies that share a cash register today, each company's registrations must in future be kept separate with a multi-user control unit. This means that if multiple companies share cash, a PC is required to pay cash register data boxes with multi-user checkbox to the server or checkout on the POS computer.
